valleys. 54 degrees now in san francisco. 57 in san jose. 51 in santa rosa. high pressure now giving way to that trough that's sitting along the coastline that's ushered in the sea breeze and cooler temperatures for today. these numbers taking a nosedive from yesterday's highs. in fact, yesterday we had some 70s and some 80s. today, a good 5 to 15 degrees cooler outside. and by tomorrow, even cooler and maybe some rain too. we'll talk more about that in a few minutes. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> reporter: tomorrow morning could be slick. out the door right now dry and quiet. i think people are still recovering after last night's big election. everything so far, so good up the nimitz. this is a live look in the east bay. northbound traffic 15 minutes between 238 and the maze. to the south bay now these are live drive time sensors you can see traffic moving at the limit 280 guadalupe parkway and 101 and back towards the east bay a quick look through danville southbound 680 moving fine through the san ramon valley. that's traffic. back to you guys. >> thank you. >>> california
to rest while wanted man is finally captured after a violent crime spree in san jose. >> the widening extent of damage after a gas explosion in massachusetts. and the president and his daughter take part in a holiday shoppingeded trip. >> i will never, ever get over this. >> ama: the innocent victim of a violent south bay crime spree is laid to rest today by his families and friends. a funeral service was held for the young man who was shot and killed in an attempted carjacking last friday. lawyer pettiford was 22 years old. one person has been arrested and now they have caught his alleged partner. here's more. reporter: on that alleged partner is only 15 years old. san jose detectives developed information that led them to an apartment complex in the east bay where they arrested that 15-year-old boy yesterday. the news broke as a lot of people were celebrating the life of the 22-year-old man who was killed. >> hugs and tears outside the campbell funeral home where dozens of friends and family members shared memories of 22-year-old rory park pettiford, the young man caught null the sa
at the airports in oakland and san jose. a lot of people heading back home after the thanksgiving holiday. you should call ahead, though, if you are heading to the airport this morning. >>> 7:03. well a carbon monoxide scare in san francisco sense more than a dozen people to the hospital and -- sent more than a dozen people to the hospital and there's still a search of where it came from. ktvu's alex savidge is in san francisco. you've been on the story since 4:30. investigators are having a hard time finding answers. >> reporter: it's certainly been a challenge to figure out what made this family sick last night. a pg&e spokeswoman told me this morning that they had one of their representatives here at their house until late in the evening last night, trying to fick out a cause for the leak -- figure out a cause for the leak. he tested the unit upstairs and downstairs. and he didn't get any carbon monoxide readings in either case. firefighters came out here about 7:00 last night on cortland street in the bernal heights neighborhood in san francisco. a total of 14 people had to be transported
at san jose state has raised the city's minimum wage now. measure d passed last night with 59% of the vote but not everyone is happy about it. cbs 5 reporter elissa harrington shows us the impact there on business. >> reporter: anyone who has worked for minimum wage knows it can be rough especially living in a city where the average cost of a one-bedroom apartment is around $1,700 a month. >> didn't pay my bills and it took me away from solving my other problems. i was going around like a hamster in a circle. >> reporter: so san jose residents voted in favor of measure d, raising minimum wage here from $8 an hour to 10. but workers like johnnie garcia at peanuts deluxe cafe across from san jose state university -- >> it will make a difference in my life. i'll have more money for me to help myself with the rent or other bills. >> reporter: but for the owners -- >> very tough for small businesspeople. >> reporter: peanuts has been a college area staple for 30 years run by this man and his wife. chang says the extra $2 an hour now means less hours for employees and longer days
and the update on the investigation there to the case. >> reporter: yeah. i checked in with the san jose police department spokesperson for the update on this case. they are still search for a second suspect or at least that's what was happening all this week as they released a sketch on that expect now hee mailed me back and said per the homicide unit we aren't confirming or denying any new information. that came after i asked them if an arrest had been made. >> the man was shot and killed last week. one of the suspects a 26-year- old was in court wednesday. police say he and another man robbed four businesses, murdered a 22-year-old in a carjacking and participated in a shoot out with two officers one of the officers was hit and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. willbanks was arrested the next morning. officers released a sketch of the second suspect, a 20,000- dollar reward is being offered for his arrest. the funeral for the victim is being held this morning at 11. we will continue to talk to police and ask them about updates on that second suspect and bring you new information on

. authorities say an off duty san jose police officer just happened to be near by and went to the crash scene to help. the chp has not released any information about injurys in the chp stepped up patrol this upcoming holiday weekend and made hundreds of drunk driving arrests. but as paul chambers reports, it wasn't just alcohol that proved to be dangerous. >> reporter: with thanksgiving in your rear-view mirror, patrols are out in effect. this car burned beyond recognition was involved in a high speed collision along interstate 80 and crockett. you can see parts of northbound 101 looked like a parking lot. just before 8:30 saturday night a woman was killed on the freeway stopping traffic for more than two hours. >> it's still under investigation at this time and that's one of those incidents where a pedestrian find themselves on the freeway, we don't know why. >> reporter: chp says in more than 50% of their vehicle related accidents people were not wearing seat belts. investigators say that appears to have been the case in palo alto accident that killed two sisters. four of the family members

'm jon kelley. san jose police on the scene of a deadly hit and run. that is where bob rydell is. what can you tell us? what's the latest? >> reporter: good morning, jon. we're here at the intersection of allen rock and jackson in san jose. we're waiting for the coroner to arrive to complete their part of the investigation and remove the body, as you can see, it is still in the middle of the road. it appears this person was carrying a backpack of some sort, perhaps trying to cross the street when they were hit and killed. this was a hit and run. police are looking for that driver. the only description they have is the dark colored vehicle heading wet bound on allen rock. we understand at least one witness who flagged down a bus, offer help, was able to identify the car. route 70 by the way is being rerouted. a investigation will focus on the road conditions at the time. it was just after 6:00 this happened so it was still dark out and most likely raining at the time. you can see, it's been raining off and on. so whether weather conditions played a role in the accident will be part of t
